Our old ERP was limiting, though it was also fairly straight forward. Loading bins, bin contents, calculating warehouse adjustments, etc.I have worked in the supply chain for 5 years now and have experience with 3 different ERP's. We had one main codeunit that imported all of our data and did validation as the data was being processed. Rapid Start is great but we always wound up rolling our own. Then load your master data, open AP/AR/GL/Etc. Then restore your current backup to new database called TEST. This database had limited access to only a handful of people. Have a blank database with just Setup Data (GL/Posting Groups/etc). That is the way we handled this issue in the past. Here is an image of what my options are under the IT Administration / Data Deletion Here is an image of the options available under the RapidStart Services within our test version of Navision 2013 R2 Here is a listing of my simple XMLport that I created to load ParentAgency data into Navision. at this stage in my Navision Experience, I'm not sure if I have the option to create new procedures under the RapidStart options. I also opened the MS Dynamics Nav 2013 R2 application and found the Rapid Start options but none of these give me the option to bulk delete data from either the Customer or ParentAgecy tables. I went back into the Object Designer within the MS Dynamics Nav 2013 R2 Development Environment and I did not see any options to delete (remove) data from an existing table.

Subject: How to back out or delete data after using XMLportįirst off, thank you very much for responding to my questions and giving me a few suggestions.ġ. If there is a google link or document that I can read, I'd love to check it out. By doing so, I'm hoping to tighten up my XMLport procedure so when its time to load our production version of Nav 2013, I'm ready to go.Īny suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Ideally I'd like to be able to reinitialize the Navision tables and rerun the XMLports as often as I need to in my test environment. Is this correct? Or is there a better and more efficient way of doing this?

I can run a SQL procedure to delete the data in the Customer table but I'd rather delete the data through the Navision application so any ancillary tables, based on business logic within Navision, gets updated accordingly.Īfter doing a couple of Google searches, I'm getting the impression that I would have to develop some C/AL code to achieve this. As a developer, I have direct access to the SQL database that Navision sits on. Now I would like to delete the imported data and run the XMLport again.

I created a simple XMLport to import data related to our Programs/Customers.

What I'd like to find out is this: after importing data into Nav2013 using an XMLport, how do I go about deleting what I imported so I can run the import again?Īlong with Navision 2013 R2 we have Ceres 4 (for foodbanks).

Obviously, I am doing this in a test environment. I am currently learning how to use XMLports to import data from our old database into our new system. We are getting ready to move from an old version of Navision (1.4?) to Nav 2013 R2. This is my first post on the NAVUG forum.
